Roll Call
Lil Wayne busted into my feeds again this mornin with a Carter IV leak. Its got a buncha stuff thats been leaked over the last couple weeks, but has a few gold tracks that I hadn't seen yet. Like this track with Lil Jon and Ciara.
Holy Shit, this track is fantastic. It throws in some guitars, which i guess Wayne is into now, but has a Ciara chorus (and verse with her fantastic voice). Lil Jon has this weird echo verse where everything he says he shouts back to himself. A little weird. Otherwise, this track is fiiiiiya

Slumdog Millionaire has got a million dollar soundtrack.
Music is great, and so are movies. In honor of its recent win at the Golden Globes, I want to plug A.R. Rahman's mindblowing soundtrack from Danny Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire. If you haven't seen this movie yet, go now. Slumdog awesomely features M.I.A. in the songs "Paper Planes", "Paper Planes (DFA Remix)", as well as A.R. Rahman's original composition "O...Saya". Other great tracks include "Jai Ho", "Gangsta Blues", and "Latika's Theme". It's an eclectic mix of Bollywood, hip-hop, rock, electronic, and folk -- all in one package.
Check out the links below for some sample goodness. I know we've posted "O...Saya" before, but I've just got to remind you all how fantastic this whole soundtrack is.

Streetlab Takes on The Beatles
Streetlab (streetlab.net, just in case because blogger's being kinda shitty with links) just hooked me with a hot new remix of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, one of my fav Beatles tracks ever. They rework the beat without adding too many new samples or new vocals. Def worth checking out

Japanese Cartoon
Lupe Fiasco's side Indie/Post-Punk project, Japanese Cartoon, just leaked a couple tracks onto the blogosphere. It is unclear wether Lupe is the singer, who rocks a faux british accent and doesnt really rap. However, it definitely features him as a producer/financial backer, according to NME. Either way, it works out pretty well.

Gigamesh takes on Lykke Li
Gigamesh took on one of the top songs of the year, Lykke Li's 'Little Bit' in a fairly light remix. It spruces up the beat, making the song a lot more upbeat, but keeps Lykke Li's vocals mostly untouched. Gigamesh turns the heat up on Little Bit just the right amount. Check it out
