MILKMAN
Milkman is a Cali based mashup DJ (a la Gregg Gillis) who put out an album Jan 2k8 that is incredible. As an avowed Girl Talk sucks guy, i was pretty skeptical when introduced to Milkman. However, his sick sampling got to me, and i have since listened to his (FREE) album on repeat for about 2 weeks. Sorta absurd. I highly recommend that you grab it.

i like how you like this milkman bullshit and not girl talk. that's hilarious. first of all, it's clear that this guy bit his whole style from girl talk. second of all, his mixes are really sloppy and it's so obvious that it's all done with little attention to the detail in abelton. the sound quality is so low in everything. all of the quantatized parts are obvious. it sounds so shakey. you NEVER hear that with girl talk. this is just very low quality girl talk biter music.
I think Anon is wrong on some points.
While the link to Girl talk is clear, the samples in this mix are pretty good and not sloppy. I put it on and I was digging it right away.
first of all, Gregg gillis is girl talk. Gregg Luskin is Milkman (first thing wrong). second- yes, obviously Milkman took a ton of influence from girl talk, that is apparent. however, i think milkman does a great job at sampling, and unlike girl talk, milkman pretty much ALWAYS has more than one song playing at a time where as girl talk will commonly play a part of one song and then segway into a part of another song. Milkman is much more technical in my opinion, but don't get me wrong- still a huge girl talk fan.
not only does milkman completely hijack girltalk's style, but he directly takes a few of his samples... "breathe" and "bittersweet symphony" just to list two. this guy is ok, but girl talk is way more talented. Milkman is second rate to "feed the animals" and "night ripper" anyday.
There is no absolute value to music. It comes down to people's opinions. Some may be informed, some may not, but the OP has own opinion about whose music is better so stop trying to exert your's.
Secondly, there is no such thing as original work. Everyone borrows from things before. But the idea is that they improve on it or move in a different direction. And clearly, if what Milkman does is enough to make someone love his music and hate girltalk, then he has clearly struck on something that is at the very least different, and maybe even new.
Milkman's new album just came out, Circle of Fifths
toms diner and acoustic thugs mansion mash up is enough for me to dig. cant argue if it makes u move haters
The guy is absolutely fair, and there is no suspicion.
Here, I do not really consider it will work.
Actually sounds pretty for me... but well thanks for share.
I think everybody should glance at this.
